A COFFEE IN THE WOODS (A project by designer Edie Kahula Pereira) 

A Coffee in the Woods is my passion-generated project platform. It all started with a travel bucket list. On this list was having a coffee in the woods in Finland. I did that on my birthday last year, December 31, 2023, traveling with my grad school friend Susannah taking a bus from Helsinki to Nuuksio National Park. Our destination within the park is Nuuksio Reindeer Park.

I had my coffee in those woods using a handcrafted wood cup (called kuksa) made by an artisan from Lapland. Coffee compliments of our hotel in a thermos I brought from LA I celebrated walking a snowy trail in freezing temperatures next to a trickle of partially frozen water.  

A Coffee in the Woods is how I plan to release other project ideas including another longtime passion, organize creative residencies wherever I travel forming relationships that lead to future collaboration.
