Collection: Edie Kahula Pereira Bag Design Archive

Feeling the need to do something creative with my hands I started making potholders out of bits and pieces of materials from unfinished projects. With past employment in architecture & design and between jobs during the 2008 - 2010 (ish) economic crash; what was a creative project turned into a self-employment endeavor called Specialty Dry Goods.

My humble handmade textile potholders (with hand-sewn patterns + details) organically became its own little event selling in fun stores and being noticed by magazines. Adding a twist to the potholder design I began using remnant leather. Leather potholders lead to small leather pouches to where I am today, 12 years later deciding to create an archive for my bag designs as I move them into a quiet phase.

This archive is a place to showcase my (forever) designs while I create my path for a new way forward-- my desire is to lead a creativity focused nomadic life and business, meeting people, having new experiences and adventures out there in my future global village.

I envision traveling from place to place engaging with crafts people along the way. Working through the details is an IRL practice i look forward to experiencing.

Thank you for being on this journey with me and for your years of support. None of this would have happened without you.
